Truncate is the techno project of David Flores, a producer from the United States. He starts the project in early 2011 as a vehicle for a deeper, darker and more raw strain of techno.
Background
Before Truncate, Flores performs under the name Audio Injection. He is introduced to electronic music in the early 1990s and begins DJing at the age of 15 at underground events and raves around Southern California. His early sets span house, acid, techno and hardcore techno. After years of DJing, he turns to production and releases music on labels including Monoid, Stimulus and Droid Recordings.
Droid Behaviour and Audio Injection work
Flores becomes associated with the event production group Droid Behavior in 2003. He is a resident at the Interface warehouse events and also works regularly as a producer for Droid Recordings alongside Drumcell, who co-founds Droid Behavior.
As Audio Injection, he also performs with Drumcell at Berghain in Berlin in 2010 and 2011, and plays shows in Athens, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne, Wales, and across the United States and Mexico.
