Trumpets of Death
Trumpets of Death is a group from Fort Worth, United States, active from 2000 to 2003. It is listed as a screamo act, though its recorded output is described with a strongly experimental approach that draws on noise, jazz, ambient textures and free-form structure.
Style and sound
The group builds songs around shifting arrangements, propulsive rhythms and dense melodic improvisation. Its sound is also defined by a high tenor vocal style and a tense, layered production that gives the music a harsh, unsettled character. The writing combines avant-rock ideas with noise jazz and experimental song forms.
