Troye Sivan
Troye Sivan Mellet is an Australian singer, actor and former YouTuber from Johannesburg, Australia. Born in 1995, he first gains attention through video blogging on YouTube, where he uploads regularly and builds a large following, and through appearances in Australian talent competitions.
Music career
Sivan signs with EMI Australia in 2013. He releases his third EP, TRXYE, in 2014, and it reaches number five on the US Billboard 200. Its lead single, “Happy Little Pill”, reaches number ten on the Australian charts. In 2015 he releases his fourth EP, Wild, followed by his debut studio album, Blue Neighbourhood. The album’s lead single, “Youth”, becomes his first single to enter the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 23.
His second studio album, Bloom, is released in 2018 and reaches number three in Australia and number four on the Billboard 200. Its lead single, “My My My!”, becomes his second number-one single on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. In 2020, he releases the EP In a Dream. His recorded work sits within pop, indie pop, electropop and synth-pop.
Acting and other work
As an actor, Sivan plays the younger Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and stars as the title character in the Spud film trilogy. He also appears in the film Boy Erased in a supporting role and contributes the song “Revelation”, which receives a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song. He later appears in Three Months and the series The Idol.
Awards and recognition
In 2017, Sivan becomes the youngest recipient of the GLAAD Stephen F. Kolzak Award. In 2018, he receives a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song for “Revelation”.

Alongside his music and acting career, Sivan is known as a former YouTuber. His channel features regular video blogs and amasses millions of subscribers and more than a billion total views.
