Tropics

Tropics is the electronic project of Christopher Ward, a British musician working in chillwave, ambient, downtempo, and experimental-leaning electronic music. The project is based in the United Kingdom.

Ward records as Tropics as a solo artist and draws on a mix of 1970s music, post-punk, and other sounds from his youth. The result is associated with dreamy, summery textures and nostalgic atmospheres. His work attracts attention from music publications such as Pitchfork and XLR8R, which feature tracks by him.

He also remixes for other acts, including Bear In Heaven and Little Dragon. Tropics’ early releases include the Soft Vision EP, followed by further singles and an album.
