Tropical Popsicle

Tropical Popsicle is a United States indie pop and indie rock group centred on Tim Hines. The project follows years in straightforward post-punk and indie bands, including the Stereotypes and Lights On, before Hines moves into this newer solo outlet under the Tropical Popsicle name.

The music draws on jangly melodies associated with 1960s garage rock, psychedelia, folk and post-punk. It is also shaped by Southern California beach imagery, but set against a darker, more melancholic atmosphere. The result is a sound that keeps a pop sensibility while adding layered arrangements and a cryptic quality.
