Tripitaka

Tripitaka is a four-piece industrial rock band from the Gold Coast, Australia. The group is unsigned and has issued two EPs. The first, Modern Psychopath, appears in 2004 and contains five tracks: “Modern Psychopath”, “Perfection”, “Lotus”, “Nomad” and “Martyr Satire”. Details of the second EP are not given.

Line-up

The band’s listed members are Gavin on vocals, Luke on guitars and samples, Matt on drums and Dion on bass. Evie provides guest vocals on the Martyr Satire EP. Luke is no longer in the line-up, and the replacement is not identified.

Name note

Tripitaka is also the name of an unrelated unsigned, now broken-up band from Scunthorpe, England, known for the song “Sunny Scunny”, which includes lyrics about the town and is said to have been popular at football games.
