Trementina

Trementina is a Spanish early 80s pop group. It is described as a shoegaze quartet, and its lineup consists of bassist Lucas Martinic, vocalist Vanessa Cea, guitarist Cristobal Ortiz, and drummer Andrés.

Music and style

The group’s sound draws on shoegaze and dream pop, with references to earlier shoegaze acts such as My Bloody Valentine and Ride. It also takes influence from ambient experimentation and from later indie pop acts including CHVRCHES and Purity Ring, placing it within a broader range of shoegaze-related and indie styles.

Releases

Trementina forms in the early 2010s in Valdivia, Chile. Its debut album, Brilliant Noise, appears in 2013 on the Japanese label Vinyl Junkie Recordings. A second album, Almost Reach the Sun, follows in 2015 on the Chilean label BYM. In 2017, the group signs with Burger Records for the album 810.
