Treebeard

Treebeard are a progressive and post-rock band. The group forms in Melbourne, Australia, and the music is described as spanning long, dynamic songs that move between quiet, emotive passages and heavier, more aggressive sections. Their sound is also associated with post-hardcore, ambient, screamo and experimental elements.

Treebeard also forms in Columbia, Missouri as a post-hardcore quintet in the autumn of 2010. In that line-up, the band uses ambient guitars and soaring melodies alongside high-pitched screams, with a sound rooted in heavy music and strong melodic contrast.

Their style is noted for lengthy, epic structures and a wide emotional range, with songs that aim to cover both peaceful and destructive extremes.
