TRC

TRC are a hardcore band from London, United Kingdom. Formed in spring 2003, they work across hardcore, beatdown hardcore, UKHC, hip-hop and grime, combining street-influenced hardcore with underground UK hip hop and grime elements.

Early releases and development

After forming, TRC release a split demo with Prowler, which becomes difficult to find and is later described by the band as a joke. Their first EP is North West Kings, which they self-release in 2004. In 2007 they release the 10-track album Destroy and Rebuild, after which the band grows significantly and begins moving in new directions.

Line-up changes and later releases

TRC go through a number of line-up changes over time. Drummer Chris Robson moves to vocals, and the band recruits guitarist Charlie Wilson, who previously plays in 50 Caliber, Bun Dem Out and The King Blues. In 2009 they release The Revolution Continues, a five-track EP that includes London’s Greatest Love Story and Bastard. In 2010 they issue the single Go Hard or Go Home. Their album Bright Lights follows in 2011, although the band regards it as their debut because of the extent of the line-up changes.

Live profile, media and radio

The video for London’s Greatest Love Story becomes widely circulated and remains one of the band’s best-known tracks. The video for H.A.T.E.R.S, the lead track from Bright Lights, features drummer Lasselle Lewis as a traffic warden, with the rest of the band making cameo appearances. TRC tour the UK with Lower Than Atlantis, and later play dates with Gallows and Bring Me The Horizon. They also appear at Download Festival, Ghost Festival and Hevy Fest. Their single TEAMUK receives airplay and reaches number 2 on the Scuzz TV most-requested chart.

Labels, collaborators and recognition

TRC are signed to Siege Of Amida Records and previously to Thirty Days Of Night Records, which also houses acts including Gallows, Bring Me The Horizon, Your Demise and Architects. The band later signs a licensing deal with No Sleep Records, with a re-mastered version of their self-titled EP planned to include additional tracks such as TEAMUK and the previously unreleased Heartless. In 2012 they receive their first award nomination, for Best British Band at the Metal Hammer Awards.

Line-up

The band line-up includes Chris Robson on vocals, Anthony Carroll on vocals, Charlie Wilson on guitar, Ben Taylor Dingwall on guitar, Oliver Reece on bass and Lasselle Lewis on drums. Former bassist Miles Langford also rejoins the band briefly before Reece replaces him.
