Trader Horne

Trader Horne is a British folk rock group from London, active in 1969 and 1970. The duo is formed by Judy Dyble, formerly a singer with Fairport Convention, and Jackie McAuley, who has previously been an organist and guitarist with Them.

Recording history

The group releases one single, “Sheena”, with “Morning Way” on the other side. “Morning Way” later gives its name to the duo’s only album. A second single, “Here Comes The Rain” backed with “Goodbye Mercy Kelly”, follows the album.

Later activity

Shortly before a performance in May 1970, Dyble leaves the group. Trader Horne then continues briefly with Saffron Summerfield taking her place.

After Trader Horne

Dyble goes on to a solo career. McAuley records and works with a wide range of artists, including Viv Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Do Da Band, Clodagh Rodgers, Jamaican reggae group The Heptones, Rick Wakeman, and Lonnie Donegan, where he works as musical director and also plays guitar and fiddle.
