Toxic

Toxic is a group name used by several different acts across metal, rock, trance and rap. The most prominent entries include an Israeli psychedelic trance project led by Avi Aboresi, a horrorcore artist from Charlotte, North Carolina, a Norwegian rock band from Stavanger, a German guitar-pop and electronic group, a heavy metal and hard rock band from Newberg, Oregon, and a rapper from Zhejiang, China.

Israeli trance project

The Israeli Toxic project begins in 2001 as a dark, metal-influenced trance act and develops into a more forceful dancefloor trance style. It works with artists including Azax Syndrom, Psychotic Micro, Abomination, Winter Demon and Seroxat, among others. Its releases appear on labels including Time Code, Acidance, Yabai and Pi.

Horrorcore artist

Another Toxic is Kevin Moss from Charlotte, North Carolina. He starts out in horrorcore, appears on Project Born’s mixtape Work Vol. II, and later releases his first CD, Lucid Dreams. He also performs shows around North Carolina.

Norwegian rock band

Toxic is also a Norwegian rock band based in Stavanger. The band forms in May 2003 and quickly establishes its own sound. Its lyrics focus on “the inner human psychic”, and its music shows clear links to rock from the 1970s through to later decades. The band releases one album, Intoxicated, in November 2005.

Other acts using the name

Another Toxic is associated with a rock group formed from a circle of friends who come together for the pleasure of playing rock. There is also a German act consisting of Martin Gretschmann, Alex Fischer, Christian Schröcker and Mathias Laub, making guitar-pop that moves between noisy rock and amplified electronic melodies. A separate Toxic is a heavy metal and hard rock band from Newberg, Oregon, active in the 1980s. The name is also used by a rapper from Zhejiang, China.
