Townhouse are an acoustic folk trio based in Edinburgh, Scotland and are Lisa Rigby (vox, mandolin, guitar, shruti box), Stuart Clark (vox, cajon, guitar) and John Farrell (bass & guitars). Their collective roots spread from Scotland to the Caribbean via England and Ireland. They've been in their current form since 2007/8.
Their influences reach across a wide variety of music, from jazz to indie, classical to world roots music , which results in a unique sound unattributable to any particular artists.
Townhouse songs are written (together and individually) by Lisa Rigby and Stuart Clark; Lisa's songs have already gained recognition in Scotland (winner in Burnsong Songwriting competition 2007 & 2009) and in the UK (UK Songwriting Semi-finalist 2008).
