Towers Of London

Towers Of London are a British punk rock group whose sound combines 1970s-style punk associated with acts such as the Sex Pistols with 1980s sleaze rock in the vein of Guns N’ Roses. The band emerges in early 2005 and becomes known in Britain for both its confrontational live performances and its offstage antics.

Career

The band signs to TVT Records in early 2005 and releases a run of singles before its first album. These singles are “On A Noose”, “Fuck It Up”, “How Rude She Was” and “Air Guitar”. Its debut album, Blood, Sweat and Towers, is released in June 2006 and is produced by Stacy Jones.

Media and public attention

Towers Of London appear in their own television documentary, The Towers of London. Lead singer Donny Tourette is brought before Cambridge Magistrates’ Court in June 2005 after an incident during a show at Cambridge Anglia Polytechnic University in February 2005, where he is accused of criminal damage after swinging from an overhead cable that pulls down a canopy and breaks scaffolding. He is ordered to pay compensation, court costs and fines. In January 2007, Tourette appears on the reality television programme Celebrity Big Brother, where he enters to a hostile reaction, later leaves the house by climbing the garden fence, and refuses a task involving being Jade Goody’s servant.
