Toupé is a group made up of two bass players and a drummer. It writes songs that range widely in style and subject matter, combining humour with serious themes, moshable sections, virtuoso passages and some easier-listening material. The group also uses explicit language in some songs.
The group changes from album to album, show to show and day to day, and does not stay fixed within a single genre or niche. Its material is described as varied rather than bounded by genre, budget or logic.
