Total Eclipse

Total Eclipse is a French goa trance and psychedelic trance group that begins in 1992. Its original line-up includes Stéphane Holweck, Serge Souque and Loïc Vanpoucke, and the project continues with additional member Marios Trivizas listed among its members.

Early releases and albums

The group first appears on compilations in 1993. By 1994, it releases singles on Dragonfly Records and T.I.P. Records. Its first album, Delta Aquarids, appears in 1995 on Blue Room Released, followed by the double CD Violent Relaxation in 1996 on the same label. Later albums include Access Denied in 1999, Update Files in 2004 and tales of the shaman in 2010. A track called “Psychedelic Terrorist” appears on the 1999 album Tsunami.

Collaborations and remixes

Stéphane Holweck has a wider background in electronic music. He founds Juno Reactor with Ben Watkins in 1992 and also works with Youth from the early part of his career. His other collaborators include Simon Posford and Raja Ram on Mystery of the Yeti in 1996. Holweck also contributes to music featured in Matrix Reloaded, including a 13-minute track used in a car scene, alongside Ben Watkins and film composer Don Davis.

Discography and activity

Total Eclipse issues material on labels including Blue Room, TIP, Dragonfly, Twisted Records, Avatar Records, Solstice, Wagram, Sony Music, Phonokol, Eye Q Records, 3D Vision and Nova Tekk. The group also remixes tracks by Anne Clark, Gong, Juno Reactor, Jungle High, 1200 Mics and Prana. It remains active and Holweck continues to perform internationally, including in Brazil, Hungary, Portugal, Japan, Turkey, France and the United States.
