Tosh 1, also known as Jawara McIntosh, is a Jamaican rapper and the son of Peter Tosh. He is born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moves to the United States at the age of five. He develops an early interest in rap and begins writing his own lyrics as a way of expressing the frustration he feels after his father’s murder and the unanswered questions surrounding that event.
