Tommyknocker

Tommyknocker is the performance name of Tommaso Marra, an Italian DJ and producer from Roma, Italy. He works in hardcore techno and nu style gabber, and is also associated with hardcore and gabber more broadly.

Career

He starts performing in 1994 at illegal parties in Rome. From 1995 to 1997 he works with Freddy K’s Virus staff, and he is resident DJ at clubs including 06 and Oxygen, which is described as Rome’s first hardcore club. He also takes part in the radio show Hardcore Play, where he works as director together with Freddy.

Between 1997 and 1999 he plays at major hardcore parties in Rome. He then moves into production and begins buying equipment to make records. His first EP, The Realm, is released by Traxtorm Records in 1999.

Projects and releases

In 2000 he forms a hardcore team called T-Factor with two other Traxtorm artists, Impulse Factory and Erick-S.X. The group releases the EP How Many More Out There? He later works in Traxtorm Gangstaz Allied, a project with The Stunned Guys, Art of Fighters and DJ Mad Dog.

International work

His productions lead to performances at hardcore events around the world, including dates in Canada, Holland, Switzerland and Germany. Festivals and parties named in connection with these appearances include Megarave, Streetparade, Energy, Goliath and Army of Hardcore.
