Tommy Four Seven is a UK-born, Berlin-based techno artist who has been active since 2005. His work sits between house and techno, with a focus on dark, raw and hypnotic club music. He is also associated with the project These Hidden Hands and with the labels Hidden Hundred and 47.

Style and approach

Tommy Four Seven describes his production method as sound design rather than conventional musicianship, building tracks by recording and shaping elements into deep, immersive atmospheres. In the club, he moves from tech-house into darker techno, while keeping the foundations deep and hypnotic.

Releases and labels

His catalogue includes early records on the Parisian label Kill Brique, along with releases for Wolfskuil Records, Electric Deluxe, and CLR. He also appears on remixes for Josh Wink and Darko Esser.

Shooting Elvis

In 2008, he launches the deep techno label Shooting Elvis. The label releases work by artists including Mark Broom, Remute, Sebastian Roya and James Kronier, and follows a selective approach that favours quality over quantity.

Reception

His releases attract support from DJs and producers including Ben Klock, Len Faki, Joel Mull and Paco Osuna.
