Tommy Farrow is an English DJ and producer from Essex who lives in Sheffield. Born in 1998, he learns to DJ at 14 after his sister Katie, who performs as DJ Faro, gives him his first set of decks.
Early development
As a teenager, Farrow spends time in clubs across the UK and in Ibiza during the summer. These experiences shape his understanding of dance music culture, from older club sounds to newer selectors and curators.
He builds a presence in Sheffield through residencies at underground venues and by running his own weekly event, Syko Disco. He later takes his first residency at Octan Ibiza, formerly Sankey’s.
Music
Farrow’s work draws on a modern take on 1990s and 2000s euphoric trance, while also incorporating breaks and other electronic styles in both his productions and his DJ sets. He cites Ejeca, Bicep and Love Regenerator as influences.
He releases his debut two-track EP in early 2020, after years of development. The release receives praise from several dance music figures, including Will Clarke and MistaJam. By that point, he is already being recognised as an emerging name in electronic music.
