Tom Novy, also known as Thomas Reichold, is a German house DJ and producer from Kaufbeuren and München. Born in 1970, he works in electronic and euro house and is associated with the names Tom Novy & Pufo and Tom & Jerry.

Career

Novy makes a name in the international club scene as a DJ and producer, with appearances in clubs around the world and a series of charting singles. His breakthrough comes in 1996 with “Superstar”, which reaches number 15 in Germany and enters the top positions in 18 other countries. In 1998, “I Rock” becomes a house anthem and establishes him further as a chart act.

He is the first German DJ to mix the British Ministry of Sound Annual Compilation, and the release charts in both Germany and the UK. He also presents television shows including “MTV Dance Floor Charts”, “MTV Streetlife”, “MTV – Battle of the DJs” and the “Mac Chart Show” on Pro7.

Remixes and releases

Novy produces remixes for Sonique, Lou Bega, Tom Jones and Mousse T., Backstreet Boys and SNAP!. Among the titles mentioned are Sonique’s “I Put a Spell on You”, Lou Bega’s “Mambo #5”, Tom Jones and Mousse T.’s “Sexbomb”, Backstreet Boys’ “The Call” and SNAP!’s “Eternity”. His own single “Pumpin” reaches number 19 in the UK in 2000. In 2004, “Your Body” and “Lovin U” also attract international attention and chart in South Africa’s top 10.

Broadcast work

He continues to play vinyl on a weekly radio show on FFN and has a long-running role on Radio Energy Munich, as well as Radio Energy Stuttgart from 2003. He is also described as part of an elite group of artists in the music scene whose name is widely recognised.
