TOKiMONSTA

TOKiMONSTA is the recording name of Jennifer Lee, a Korean-American electronic and hip hop producer from Torrance in the United States. Born and raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, she begins from a background in classical piano, which she uses to shape layered soundscapes and textures.

Her music combines live instruments, percussion, digital manipulation and dusty vinyl, with beat-based production that brings together older sounds and a more experimental approach. Her work is associated with electronic, hip hop and wonky styles.

Her debut album, Midnight Menu, is released in 2010. “Toki” means “a rabbit” in Korean.
