Together is a French house duo from Paris, consisting of Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon. The pair work as a group project within the French house scene and record for Bangalter’s label Roulé.

Music and releases

Together’s best-known tracks are “So Much Love To Give” and “Together”. The track “Together” opens with a spoken sample from the film Pleasantville, and its main vocals come from Sweet Sensation’s “Sincerely Yours”, while the background vocals are sampled from Slave’s “Because of You”.

The duo also makes the original version of “Call On Me”, which Eric Prydz later remixes. That original version does not receive official clearance for the sample it uses, while Prydz’s mix does. A Together demo that appears in one of their live sets later forms the basis of Daft Punk’s 2013 track “Contact”.

Relation to Daft Punk

Musical elements from “Together” later appear during the encore performance of Daft Punk’s 2007 live sets, and a recording of that encore is included on the two-disc edition of Alive 2007. Those performances and the album renew interest in the track.
