Tiny Moving Parts are an American emo band from Benson, Minnesota, formed in 2008. The group consists of Matthew Chevalier, William Chevalier and Dylan Mattheisen, and it remains active.

Background

The trio starts out playing together in junior high and continues as a band from there. Their sound sits within emo, math rock, midwest emo and punk, with the group also associated with post-hardcore and screamo.

Releases and label history

The band releases seven studio albums. Their early albums include Waves Rise, Waves Recede, the Ocean Is Full of Waves and Moving to Antarctica. Their third album, This Couch Is Long & Full of Friendship, comes out through Kind of Like Records, followed by Pleasant Living.

In 2016, they issue Celebrate, with the track “Happy Birthday” appearing as the first single from that release. Their next album, Swell, follows in 2018. In 2019, the band signs to Hopeless Records for Breathe, their seventh album.

The band tours and performs with a range of other acts across the 2010s, including The Front Bottoms, Frameworks, Hostage Calm, Japanther, Gates, Free Throw, Modern Baseball, State Champs, The Wonder Years, Letlive and Microwave.
