Tinlicker

Tinlicker is a melodic techno and house group from Utrecht, Netherlands. It is active from 2012 and currently consists of Jordi van Achthoven, Micha Heyboer and Hero Baldwin.

Background

The project begins as a collaboration between Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven, who work together from 2013. Both bring prior experience from other areas of electronic music: Heyboer is known from the drum and bass act Black Sun Empire, while Van Achthoven works as a producer, songwriter and music editor for a range of artists. Their background contributes to the polished, emotive style associated with the group.

Releases and collaborators

Tinlicker releases music on labels including Anjunadeep, mau5trap and Armada. Among its better-known tracks are “Because You Move Me”, “Lost” and “Less Than A Minute”, which gain large streaming numbers. The group also makes reworks of Robert Miles, deadmau5, James Zabiela and Reflekt’s “Need To Feel Loved”, and works with Ben Böhmer, Lane 8 and Helsloot.

Album

The group’s first full-length album, This Is Not Our Universe, appears in 2019 and features vocals from alt-J, Run Rivers and Thomas Oliver. The record combines songwriting, house rhythms and progressive passages, and presents the project’s sound in album form.
