Tim Sheridan is a British DJ and electronic music figure associated with house, dance, big beat and electronica. He builds much of his career around underground club culture, with experience in warehouses, free beach parties in Ibiza, raves at DC10 and events across Europe and the UK.
Career
Sheridan has a DJ career spanning 24 years. He is described as a founder of KISS FM in the north, and later becomes known for helping to revive Ministry of Sound’s profile through his night Nastydirtysexmusic and a compilation with the same name. His work in Ibiza includes playing minimal and techno there at a time when many DJs are associated with bongos, flamenco and more commercial summer sounds.
Veryverywrongindeed
He is the force behind Veryverywrongindeed and its label Veryverywrongindeed Recordings, which emerge from years of club and rave activity. The label receives support from artists including Dan Ghenacia, Sebo K, Laurent Garnier and Arnaud Rebotini, and is described as “really freaky” and “one to watch” by IDJ. Its London warehouse parties are also described by DJ Mag as “deliciously sideways”.
The label roster includes artists such as Andre Crom, dub KULT and Johnny Arthur, alongside newer names including Zigmund Slezak and Josh Tweek, as well as UK act Spektre.
Aliases and projects
Nastydirtysexmusic and Dope Smugglaz are listed as Sheridan’s associated acts. Sheridan explains the name Nastydirtysexmusic as an attempt to create an imaginary genre and avoid being pigeonholed, and says Veryverywrongindeed follows the same idea of being deliberately descriptive.
Context
Sheridan is presented as one of the UK’s underground dance music figures, with a career tied to club culture, warehouse parties and label-building rather than a conventional mainstream profile.
