TiGERTOWN

TiGERTOWN is an Australian indie pop and pop rock group from Sydney. The band is built around two connected families: co-lead vocalists Chris and Charlie are married, while drummer Kurt, bassist Elodie and keyboard player Alexi are siblings. The group’s songs and recordings are shaped by that close family structure, which is central to its identity and writing process.

Formation and early releases

The band forms when Chris and Charlie first share early tracks that later become the group’s debut self-titled EP. That release includes the song “Go Now”. A second EP, Before The Morning, follows and produces the singles “Lions & Witches” and “Morning Has Finally Come”.

Sound and recording

TiGERTOWN’s music combines shimmering alternative pop, dreampop, synthpop elements and detailed harmony work. On the Wandering Eyes EP, the band records the base tracks at a private retreat at the foot of the Blue Mountains with producer Liam Judson, then completes additional production in Melbourne with Steve Schram. The sessions include the band singing around a single microphone rather than recording each voice separately.

Wandering Eyes

Wandering Eyes continues the collaborative writing of Chris and Charlie and expands the group’s more imaginative lyrical approach. The EP includes “What You Came Here For”, “Back In Time” and “Weary Eyes”, and it shows the band working with stories that move beyond conventional pop themes.

Membership

The group consists of Chris Collins, Charlie Collins and The Lex Man, and has also included Kurt, Elodie and Alexi as part of its family-based line-up.
