Tides Of Ire

Tides Of Ire are a metal and nu metal band from Kent, England. The group forms in March 2015 with Aidan Jee on lead guitar, Leonardo Ozorio on drums, Sam Alldridge on bass, Matt Kateley on rhythm guitar and Mark Wills on vocals.

After forming, the band spends its first year writing material and rehearsing. Once it has a solid live set, it begins playing local shows in Kent and develops a profile by offering a heavier and more rap-inflected style than many of the other local bands around it.

In October 2016, Aidan Jee leaves and James Daniel Harper joins on guitar after learning half the set at his first try-out. The change allows the band to return to local gigs within a month.

In early 2017, Tides Of Ire takes part in Metal 2 The Masses, the battle of the bands competition linked to a place at Bloodstock Festival, and also plays a festival with Crazytown. In May 2017, the band signs to Deadwave Records for the promotion and distribution of its debut EP, The Burning Sea.

The Burning Sea contains three songs: “December Nights”, “Extraction” and “Repent Replenish”, which is the band’s first single. The group cites influences including Gojira, Machine Head, Rage Against The Machine and Limp Bizkit, and describes its sound as combining fast vocals with technical riffs. It also expands its live activity beyond Kent to London and other places further afield.
