Tides From Nebula

Tides From Nebula is an instrumental post-rock and post-metal group from Poland, based in Warsaw, and active since 2008. The band forms in January 2008 and builds its sound around instrumental, ambient, emotional and energetic soundscapes, with progressive rock also associated with its style.

Albums and recording

The group’s first album, Aura, is released on Lou&Rocked Boys. Its follow-up, Earthshine, comes out in 2011. The writing for Earthshine is completed in the first half of 2010, and the band records it in the remote Polish mountains in order to work away from everyday life. The setting shapes the record’s atmosphere and contributes to its ambient and energetic feel.

Production and collaboration

Earthshine is produced by Zbigniew Preisner, a composer known for film and theatre work. He hears the band on the radio and offers to work with them, bringing what the group describes as a new perspective to their compositions. The band says that his experience enriches them as musicians.

Line-up

The band’s line-up is Adam Waleszynski on guitar, Maciej Karbowski on guitar and synth, Przemek Weglowski on bass, and Tomasz Stolowski on drums.
