Throats

Throats are a UK hardcore band formed in London in 2007. The group splits in 2010 and reforms in 2014, and remains active.

Their sound moves beyond straightforward hardcore into grindcore, noisecore and screamo, with strong links to chaotic hardcore. They develop a harsh style built from speed, heavy breakdowns and abrasive riffs, while also drawing on crust and d-beat. Their music is described in relation to bands such as Napalm Death and Rotten Sound.

Throats present as a quintet and are associated with a stripped-back approach that avoids melody and harmony in favour of intensity, repetition and extreme noise.
