Thistletown

Thistletown is a British psych-folk band formed in the mid-2000s in Falmouth, Cornwall. The group disbands in 2008, then briefly reforms in 2010 before splitting again.

Background

According to a Guardian account by Will Hodgkinson, the band lives together on a boat and forms through a shared interest in 1970s folk-rock group Trees. This connection to psychedelic and folk traditions fits their classification as psych-folk, freak folk and related folk styles.

Recording and live work

In 2007, Thistletown records Rosemarie, an album produced by Circulus figure Michael Tyack. The album is released in 2008. The band also plays Green Man Festival in 2007.
