This Be the Verse
This Be the Verse is an alternative rock group from London that forms in 2014 and remains active. The project is led by vocalist, guitarist and producer Cyrus King. Its sound combines alternative rock with industrial-leaning electronics and synth elements, and the band develops a live show described as anarchic.
Releases
The group releases The Consequences EP in 2014 and follows it with a self-titled debut album in October 2016.
Live work and performances
In September 2016, This Be the Verse tours with Black Peaks and Heck after sharing shows with Palm Reader, Employed to Serve and Hawk Eyes. Cyrus King also opens for Nine Inch Nails at The Scala in 2013 with a DJ set. In 2017, the band performs at SXSW and supports Norway’s Shining.
Style
The band’s music is described as a developing mix of chaotic industrial intensity and electronica, with the project continuing to refine that approach over time.
