Thepetebox

Thepetebox is a human beatboxer and live looper from Nottingham, UK. He is known for using a loop pedal to build songs from voice and beatboxing, and he works in experimental hip-hop and cover-based performance contexts.

Career and recognition

He wins the BBC Radio 1 Beatbox Championships in 2005, which brings him wider attention in the beatbox scene. In 2007 he is named one of the winners of the Channel 4 Talent Awards, helping to establish him further as a performer.

Performances and television

Thepetebox tours his live show across the UK, Africa, France, Norway and the Czech Republic, and appears at festivals including Isle of Wight, Besival, V, Leeds, Reading, Latitude, Creamfields and Glastonbury. He also appears in a Movistar mobile phone television advert in Mexico in 2007, and later features in UK and USA television coverage of the 2009 World Free Running Championships. Other television appearances include ITV's Skillicious in 2009 and Odd One In in 2010.

Other projects

He is also a member of the bands Swimming and WeShowUpOnRadar. In 2010 he tours with the dance group Diversity twice.
