Theophilus London
Theophilus London is a hip hop artist from Trinidad, based in Brooklyn, United States, whose music blends alternative hip hop with electropop and other electronic influences. He is associated with the label imprints Theophilus London Designee and Independent Co., and the member name listed for the act is Chauffeur.
Career
London releases his debut mixtape, JAM!, in 2008. The following year he works with MachineDrum on This Charming Mixtape, a release that helps bring him to a wider audience. In 2010 he issues I Want You, a mixtape built around covers of classic songs.
His track Flying Overseas, featuring Devonté Hynes and Solange Knowles, attracts attention among music bloggers in November 2010. He also draws notice for his performances at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
