Medway's Theatre Royal were formed in 2009 after a day spent breaking into a derelict Victorian theatre in Chatham, UK with Billy Childish and Lupen Crook. They recorded and released 2 albums 'from rubble rises' and 'At The End Of A River, The Sea..' and the 'Spit and a Dream' EP on Rochester based label l The Preservation Society Presents www.thepreservationsocietypresents.com. Their songs range from hurtling Garage clatter through to straight up Pop, taking in Alt Country, Psychedelic West Coast Pop and Punk/New Wave along the way. According to Artrocker Magazine the music of Theatre Royal 'heads straight for the melodic jugular'. Influences include classic British bands such as The Smiths, Echo and The Bunnymen and The Beatles to iconic American groups such as The Velvet Undergound and Buffalo Springfield. Modern comparisons have been drawn to The National, Doves and even The Brian Jonestown Massacre. The bands forthcoming 3rd album 'We Don't Know Where We Are' will be released this summer on vinyl LP and download via Vacilando 68 Recordings www.vacilando68.org More information can be found at www.wearetheatreroyal.com
