The Zephyr Bones

The Zephyr Bones are a Barcelona group playing indie pop, indie rock, pop, psychedelic and psychedelic pop with a hazy, melodic, guitar-led sound that they describe as “beach wave”. The band’s music blends dream pop and psychedelic rock, with a strong emphasis on melody and atmosphere.

Background

The group forms in Barcelona and brings together musicians with links to Chile and Spain. Guitarists and vocalists Brian Silva and Jossip Tkalcic come from Chile, while the rhythm section is made up of Marc López and Carlos Ramos in Barcelona.

Their recordings are made in their own Eclectic Echo Lab studio in Barcelona, and their debut album, Secret Place, is mastered by Victor Garcia. The album is presented as a set of intimate songs, centred on dreamlike imagery and escape from everyday life.

Career

The Zephyr Bones emerge in 2015 with the debut EP Wishes/Fishes, released on the Spanish label La Castanya. That release earns them a showcase at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. The video for “Weird Summer” debuts through Noisey.

In 2016, the band issues the Black Lips/Surrounded By Sunflowers 7-inch single, co-released worldwide by Other Music Recording Co. and La Castanya. They are also featured in coverage of the Spanish underground rock scene alongside Hinds and MOURN, and they become a regular support act for touring acts in Spain, including Future Islands and Boogarins.
