The YuYa is the name used by a Turkish rapper from Türkiye. The act is also described as a duo made up of Constance Dalrymple and Eliseo Soardi, though the verified details identify the artist as a person rather than a group.

Background

The project is said to form in 2008 after a chance meeting at a fancy dress wedding. It starts out with an acoustic-led, avant-garde style and plays music that is described as rhythmic and easy to sing along to. The first live performance takes place in Kilburn.

Performances and releases

After the first gig, The YuYa perform more than 150 shows across the UK and Europe, and also appear at a festival in Casamance, Senegal. The debut album is recorded in Italy and is set for release on Day Job Records, with two singles prepared ahead of it: “Naked” and “It’s Better”.
