The Wreckers

The Wreckers are a United States country duo formed in 2004 by Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp. Branch, a Grammy Award winner, recruits Harp, who is already working as a backing singer and is also preparing to sign her own record deal, for the project. The group combines Branch’s pop-rock background with Harp’s classical style, and their work sits between contemporary country and country pop. The duo is signed to Maverick and remains active.

Career and release history

The Wreckers first attract attention with The Good Kind, a song originally recorded by Harp alone and later used in the television series One Tree Hill. The duo performs the song on the show on 8 February 2005 and later joins the month-long One Tree Hill Tour with Gavin DeGraw, Tyler Hilton and Bethany Joy Lenz. Branch later says she does not like touring before releasing an album. Their debut album, Stand Still, Look Pretty, is released in 2006. It enters the U.S. Billboard 200 at number fourteen and also reaches number one on the UK country chart. The Wreckers split in 2008, though the group is later listed as active.
