The Wild Feathers

The Wild Feathers are an American group based in Nashville, Tennessee. They form in 2010 and play alternative country, americana, folk rock and roots rock, with a sound also linked to rock, folk, Southern rock, blues and blues rock.

Formation and members

The band begins in Austin, Texas, where Ricky Young, Joel King, Ben Dumas, Taylor Burns and Preston Wimberly meet through coincidence, mutual friends and a shared interest in classic artists including Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Band, the Allman Brothers, Neil Young and Willie Nelson. The current line-up includes Taylor Burns, Joel King and Ricky Young.

Touring and early exposure

After forming, the group spends the following year developing its sound and touring in the United States. During this period it shares bills with Delta Spirit, Surfer Blood and The Heavy, and it also supports Paul Simon on his fall tour in 2011.

Recordings

The Wild Feathers sign to Warner Bros. Records in 2013. They release three albums on that label: their self-titled debut, The Wild Feathers, in 2013, Lonely Is a Lifetime in 2016, and Greetings from the Neon Frontier, which appears on Reprise Records, a Warner sublabel.
