The White Roses

The White Roses

The White Roses are a UK indie acoustic rock group. The line-up is described as a husband-and-wife duo, and the act is based in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, with past members including Nick Tiberi and Ryan Gartley. Matt Girod appears as a guest contributor.

Name and background

The group takes its name from the White Rose anti-Hitler movement in 1940s Germany. That movement is described as a small resistance group that distributed pamphlets and newsletters exposing the Hitler Youth and the Nazi regime, before being handed to the Gestapo and killed. The band connects that history with themes of peace, love, justice, hope, and optimism.

Activity and recordings

The White Roses have been on hiatus since their EP Life's a Story. Their recorded work is framed as acoustic indie rock, and their music is also tagged as folk rock and acoustic rock.
