The Warrior

The Warrior is a British heavy metal band from Chesterfield, associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. The group forms in 1979 and has a short lifespan, breaking up soon after the release of its only album.

Recording and release

The Warrior releases one album, Let Battle Commence, in 1980 on Rainbow Sound. The record is described as a representative underground NWOBHM release, with musical features linked to the style that emerges in England at the time.

Line-up

The band has five members: Dave Hewitt on vocals, Steve Allsopp on guitar, Mick Bannister on guitar, Kev Barsby on bass, and Barry Bingham on drums.

Notes

The Warrior should not be confused with other British bands called Warrior from Essex or Newcastle. A Beat C is also associated with the act, and Eurobeat is noted in connection with it.
