The Visitors

The Visitors are an Australian punk group from Sydney, active from 1978 to 1983. They form after the breakup of Radio Birdman and draw on the writing of Deniz Tek, who writes the songs but does not sing them. Lead vocals come from Mark Sisto, a long-time friend of the group, giving the band a vocal style that many listeners associate with The Doors. The line-up is built around a predominantly former Birdman membership and the band plays a small number of live shows in the Sydney area, beginning in late 1978 and continuing into 1979.

The group’s early activity centres on the Sydney punk scene. Although the band has a limited live history, its connection to Radio Birdman and Tek’s songwriting gives it a place in Australian punk history. Mark Sisto is the named member in the available record.
