The Unknown

The name The Unknown refers to several different acts, including a post-punk and early alternative rock band from Baltimore, Maryland, a pop punk band from Cleveland, Ohio, a hip-hop duo made up of brothers Bronze Nazareth and Kevlaar 7, and a Florida rock band active in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Baltimore post-punk band

One version of The Unknown forms in Baltimore in the 1980s and plays post-punk and early alternative rock. This group releases its self-titled first record in 1987 and follows it with Fall in 1990. It performs a reunion show in January 2012. The key track associated with this act is The Reality.

Florida rock band

Another The Unknown forms in 1987 on Florida’s west coast and develops a following through live shows. The band plays AOR-influenced rock, attracts audiences on the Florida scene, and performs spring break gigs in Fort Lauderdale. It wins the Budweiser Battle of the Bands, draws attention from A&R scouts, and signs to Epic Records in 1992. The group releases one album, Big Dreams, in 1989.
