The Team

The Team is a hyphy rap group from Oakland, California, and Berkeley, California. It is active from 2002 to the present and consists of Clyde Carson, Manni Mannish and Kaz Kyzah. The group is associated with West Coast hip hop and Bay Area rap, and its sound reflects the diversity of the hyphy movement.

Career

The Team first becomes known for the local track “It’s Gettin’ Hot” in 2004. It regains attention in late 2005 with the singles “Just Go” and “Bottles Up”, which promote the album World Premiere. The album releases in 2006 and reaches number 95 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 50 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart.

In 2012, the group produces another local hit, “Slow Down.” The Team is also linked with talk of major-label interest, including The Black Wall Street Records and G Unit. Clyde Carson is signed to Black Wall Street Records and records “Lights, Camera, Action” with The Game and Snoop Dogg.
