The Tannahill Weavers are a Scottish folk group from the United Kingdom, active since 1968. They perform traditional Scottish music and are known for helping to broaden the use of the Great Highland Bagpipe in ensemble settings, rather than treating it only as a solo instrument.

History and name

The group forms in 1968 and releases its first album in 1976. It takes its name from the Scottish poet Robert Tannahill, and it records several of his songs.
