The Swinging Blue Jeans are a British Merseybeat and beat music group from Liverpool, active from 1960 to 2010. They are best known for the single “Hippy Hippy Shake” (also listed as “The Hippy Hippy Shake”), which brings them international recognition in the United States.

The group has a four-piece lineup in its early description and later continues with changing personnel. Members associated with the band include Ralph Ellis, Terry Sylvester, Colin Manley, Les Braid, Ray Ennis, Norman Kuhlke, Alan Lovell and Jim Rodford. Ray Ennis remains with a later version of the group.

The band also charts in the United Kingdom with “You’re No Good”, a cover version that reaches the top five. Terry Sylvester leaves in the late 1960s and later joins The Hollies as a replacement for Graham Nash. After their period of chart success ends, the band moves into the oldies circuit.

The Swinging Blue Jeans remain identified with the Liverpool merseybeat scene and the wider 1960s British rock and roll and oldies repertoire.
