The Swanvesta Social Club
The Swanvesta Social Club form in late 2006 and are based in St Albans. They describe themselves as “the inauthentic sound of cuba”. The group is at least a 10-piece, and sometimes larger, and plays a mixture of indie covers, original tracks and Latin staples.
Releases and performances
Their first official mini-album, Never Mind The Bongos (SVSC001), is released in March 2008. The band appears at festivals including Rhythms Of The World in Hitchin, the Exmoor Folk Festival, Kaleidescope and St Albans Festival, and also plays at St Michaels in St Albans and the Two Rivers Festival in Chepstow.
