The Struts
The Struts are a rock band from Derby, United Kingdom. Formed in 2010, the group centres on vocalist Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott and drummer Gethin Davies. The original line-up also includes bassist Jamie Binns and drummer Rafe Thomas.
Formation and line-up
Spiller and Slack start writing and recording together after their previous bands begin to fall apart, working as a duo for nearly three years before recruiting mutual friends Binns and Thomas on bass and drums. The band then forms in Derby and continues as a UK rock act with the current line-up anchored by Spiller, Slack, Elliott and Davies.
Style and influences
The Struts draw on rock, with links to glam rock, indie and indie rock in broader descriptions of their sound. Their influences include Queen, the Rolling Stones, Oasis and The Libertines. Their music is described in terms of a retro-minded classic rock style with a modern edge.
