The Sound of Arrows

The Sound of Arrows are a Swedish indie pop group formed in 2006. The act begins in Gävle and later moves to Stockholm. It is associated with indie pop, pop and electronic music.

Formation and members

The group starts as a duo made up of Oskar Gullstrand and Stefan Storm. Storm has previously makes house music, while Gullstrand plays in an orchestra before later working as a graphic designer and animator. The project is originally intended to record only a song or two, but it continues after early interest in the track “Narrow Escape”.

Stefan Storm remains the named member of the group.

Recordings and releases

In 2008, the group signs to the Swedish indie label Labrador Records. It then signs to Geffen in 2010. The debut album, Voyage, is released in 2011 and includes the singles “Into the Clouds”, “Nova”, “Magic”, “Wonders” and “Conquest”.

The second album, Stay Free, follows in 2017. Its singles include “Beautiful Life”, “In the Shade of Your Love” featuring Niki & the Dove, and “Don’t Worry”. In 2018, the EP EP1 - Cuts from the Stay Free Vault is released and consists of unreleased material.
