The Son

The Son is a Japanese band associated with house. The act begins singing professionally at the end of 1987 and later graduates in 1989 with a two-year degree from the National Musical Arts Institute in Saigon. It is also known for guitar playing as well as singing.

Musical style and performance

The Son listens to a wide range of music, including pre-war music, romantic ballads, modern music and Western classical music. In performance, the act often sings romantic ballads and popular music. Among its favoured songs is Trai Tim Nguc Tu, written by Duc Huy, which is noted for its melody and simple lyrics.

Activity in San Jose

The Son lives in the San Jose area for about a year and describes it as a place it knows well. It views San Jose as living up to its name of Blossom Valley and regards Silicon Valley as a promising place for Vietnamese residents. The Son is under an exclusive contract with Thuy Nga Productions for video and audio releases. Its CDs include Tinh Thu Cua Linh, Nhung Chieu Khong Co Em, and Mai Lo Minh Xa Nhau, the latter recorded with Huong Lan. An album titled Tim Nhau Trong Ky Niem is also listed as a project.
