The Session

The Session

The Session is a group from Coventry, United Kingdom, active from 2002 to the present. It is an acoustic-driven band with a line-up that changes over time while remaining centred on six members.

The group alternates between male and female lead vocals. Its songs are drawn from lived experience and are written as narrative pieces as well as songs. The Session draws on a wide range of musical influences, with funk and soul singled out as particular touchstones.

The line-up includes Dean MacDonald on guitars and vocals, Sheryl Robertson on vocals, Tom Meek on guitars, Dave Chambers on bass guitar and double bass, Rich Taylor on drums and percussion, and Dave Richardson on congas, bongos and percussion.
